One 20 min track from the long time Japanese noise project K. K. Null, three tracks from the Spanish noise project Scumearth and one collaboration track all totaling just over 48 minutes. There is an wide array of sound covered in this material so it is hard to put into words. The KK Null material generally doesn't hit full on harsh noise but shows more restraint and constant evolution while the Scumearth material tends to be more glitchy with blasts of harsh noise. Take a listen to the excerpts in the samples tab to get a rough idea of what is to expect.

Side A consists of two pieces of metal hard paned with minimal distortion. Side B is composed of rearranging and layering the material found on side A.

Izanami’s Labour Pains is a project of Sascha Mandler (Mazakon Tactics and Namazu Dantai) with obvious japanoise influences. The material on this CD is mainly composed of quickly changing harsh noise with the occasional vocal outburst and ambient synth transition. Recommended for fans of the more recent K2 material.

PT:150 Faux Pas/ Grain Belt 7"

Faux Pas (Lasse Marhaug and Sten Ove Toft) has been bringing it with some well put together harsh noise lately with releases on Turgid Animal, Second Sleep, Roggbif, Violent Noise Atrocities and Destructive Industries. Their side of this 7” is just as brutal, producing a nearly 5 min assault of harsh noise with feedback and textural changes making their way to the surface now and again.

Grain Belt (Wince, Willful and Baculum) provides a very layered and composed slab of metal abuse utilizing scraping and sputtering sounds.

Pharmakon is the solo power electronics project of Margaret Chardiet. She has previous releases on Bloodlust!, Callow God and Three Songs of Lenin. She lives at the Red Light District were projects like Yellow Tears, Haflings and Cathode Terror Secretion spend a lot of time so if you aren’t completely familiar with her work you can get an idea of some of her influences.

Deterge is a newer alias of Jim Haras that has evolved into a dynamic power electronics project utilizing thick harsh noise, synth and creepy vocals. This recording focuses on degenerate fetishism of strange objects or ideas.

Michael Page’s (Fire in the Head) Sky Burial project has been exploring the dark ambient side of industrial music since 2006, evolving into a unique and steadfast in the genre. Threnody for Collapsing Suns is a triptych clocking in at over 50 minutes – thoughtfully composed; incorporating deep drones, shimmering synth work, and lamenting melodic lines. The disparate layers come together to form a surprisingly organic, well-crafted narrative. Threnody continues Sky Burial’s journey into the nebulous dusk of “Kosmische Musik”, and forms part of a loose trilogy with the preceding Kiehtan and forthcoming Aaegri Somnia.

Priest In Shit is the harsh noise junk metal project of Sean Matzus, Vance Osborne and Richard Ramirez. Icon/ Effigy is a follow up release to the recent collab 12” with Smell & Quin and the Filth compilation with Bizarre Uproar and Nicole 12. The material on Icon/ Effigy ranges from layered metal abuse to thick harsh noise.

The three tracks on this CD are each a collab between Barrikad and Kriminaaliset Metsanhaltijat, Fear Konstruktor or Government Alpha. Starting off this disc is a 19 min track with Kriminaaliset Metsanhaltijat where the collab conjures up an dark ambient styled track with ominouse soundscapes, sparse vocals, the clang of metal objects. The second track Barrikad and Fear Konstruktor produce a synth warble with strange vocals. The final track is a straight up harsh noise blast between Barrikad and Government Alpha similar to the 3” released by L.White.
